The Central Pennsylvania Forum for the Future celebrated its seventh annual Make a Difference youth leadership conference on June 17-20, 2004.  Tenth and eleventh grade high school students from all over central PA were greeted by college-aged Near Peer facilitators who anxiously awaited their arrival.  Over the course of the four days, friendships, teamwork, and collaboration were just a part of their experience.  Each of the teams were busy creating, planning, developing, and deisgning projects to help better their schools and communities.  It was an amazing sight to see!  All of this took place at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA.

This year, we had 130 high school students from 36 high schools who came together to learn about leadership, team building, community awareness, and community service.  Standing out in their white t-shirts to greet the high school students, better known as "Pioneers," were 36 Near Peer facilitators and 10 Near Peer Interns. 

Thanks to the generosity of over 100 contributors, who varied from individuals, businesses, and organizations throughout the central PA region, Make a Difference participants are going home to improve their schools and communitieis.
